Restaurant Opening Hours

Our Restaurant is open daily from 9am - 5:30pm

Food is served from 11:30am - 3pm

Please note that the last train to Villars is at 6pm if you aren't skiiing down 

Restaurant Reservations

The restaurant at Hotel du Lac is a reservation driven restaurant.  We welcome walk in guests and aim to accommodate them as much as possible.  However, especially during our peak times, we cannot guarantee a table to all walk-in guests and highly recommend booking in advance.

Reservations also accepted via our online booking service (click button above), email, telephone, and in person when visiting the restaurant. 

We are not always in a position to answer the phone. If this is the situation we kindly ask that you book online or drop in. 

Please note that leaving a telephone message or sending an email is not confirmation of a table or being able to make a reservation. The booking will have to have been acknowledged to ensure the reservation.

Please inform your server if you have a limited amount of time to eat with us i.e. a booked ski lesson etc.  We will do our best to accommodate your timings but depending on restaurant demand at the time, this may not always be possible.

Regardless of the size of the reservation if the guest is more than ten minutes late we will void the reservation and release the table(s).  We refer to this as the 10 minute rule.

Large table reservations (8 or over) can be accommodated but will require a credit or debit card to reserve.  The 10 minute rule will still apply. Please assume that if your reservation is for 12pm or earlier we may have another reservation for your table(s) to follow and will require the table(s) back.  Your server will advise if this is the case.

For large tables, due to the restaurants high demand, we have a “no call” and/or a “no show” policy which will result in a 30 Chf per person charge to the supplied credit or debit card.  Notification will be given prior to charging subject to us having valid contact details.

Peak restaurant times for the Winter season are during Christmas and New Year, the whole month of February and Easter.  Please note that regardless of these times, we are still an extremely busy 200 seated restaurant with full table service.  All of our food and drinks are made to order so your patience is greatly appreciated especially during our peak times.

Guests with any food allergies or dietary requirements not already mentioned via reservation, should inform their server as soon as possible.  The server will be able to provide relevant menu guidance or if needed liaise with the Chef to adjust or provide a meal.  Please note that without advance notice we might not be able to accommodate any requests.

Whilst we can cater for a number of food allergies and intolerances we are unable to accommodate nut allergies. Please be aware all of our products may contain traces of nuts.

We do not offer a bread service.  Bread can be ordered from the sides section of the menu and incurs a moderate extra charge.  Please tell your server if you wish for this to arrive before your starter or main course.

Please be aware that we charge a small fee for tap water.

In accordance with Swiss law there is no smoking anywhere inside Hotel du Lac.  This includes the toilets.  Any person found violating this law will receive an instant 500Chf fine and be asked to leave the premises.  Ashtrays are provided on the outside terraces.
